SUMMARY:Private sector best practices for climate-resilient infrastructure: key insights for regional and local authorities
DESCRIPTION:Public sector decisions will be pivotal in shaping the resilience of cities\, regions\, and critical infrastructure systems. Climate change impacts are already affecting sectors ranging from energy and transport to telecommunications and waste management. Ensuring infrastructure is climate-resilient is essential to safeguard communities\, maintain essential services and minimise future economic losses. \nThis online event\, organised under the EU Mission on Adaptation\, will bring together regional and local authorities (RLAs) and private sector actors to explore concrete approaches to making infrastructure climate-resilient. This session will focus on:\n1. How climate risk is integrated into infrastructural planning\n2. Risk\, insurance and financing of infrastructure projects to improve investment readiness\n3. Private sector solutions\, tools and services that can support climate-resilient infrastructure development and delivery \nThe session will present the European Integrated Framework for Climate Resilience and share key insights from international discussions on infrastructure resilience under the Blue Dot Network. It will also feature AXA’s perspective on infrastructure risk\, insurance\, and finance to support investment readiness\, alongside Greenpass’ practical solutions\, tools\, and services designed to help regional and local authorities integrate climate resilience into infrastructure planning and delivery. \nFor regional and local authorities\, the event will provide an opportunity to learn about how best to design and deliver bankable adaptation projects and gain insights into private sector solutions and best practices. \nFor private sector participants\, the event offers an opportunity to engage directly with RLAs and hear about the infrastructure challenges they are facing and about opportunities to build partnerships and exchange collaborative ideas on the future of climate-resilient infrastructure in Europe. \nClick on the Register button to register for the event⬇️
