SUMMARY:Climate-Adapt4EOSC project to be presented during 7th Climate Change Adaptation Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 7th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA2025)\, the CMCC’s flagship event and the leading conference on climate adaptation in Europe\, will take place for the first time in Italy from 16 to 18 June 2025. \nThe Conference is a key milestone in the international climate calendar. This edition is set to bring together influential voices and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to accelerate climate adaptation efforts. \nEntitled “Smarter\, Faster and More Systemic Adaptation”\, ECCA2025 will serve as a vibrant platform for showcasing cutting-edge research and innovative solutions\, sharing knowledge and best practices and fostering collaboration towards a climate-resilient society. It will bring together researchers\, decision-makers\, practitioners\, and other relevant stakeholders to exchange research findings\, innovative policy developments and solutions\, and practical implementation experiences. \nThe conference is organised by CMCC Foundation and JPI Climate in the framework of Horizon Europe MAGICA Project. As a recognized leader in climate research and innovation\, CMCC plays a central role in coordinating the event\, ensuring that cutting-edge scientific knowledge informs real-world solutions for climate adaptation. \nCMCC researchers will contribute key insights and results in line with the conference’s main themes\, answering key questions regarding a future marked by more intense and frequent climate extremes\, warmer temperatures\, growing cities and increasingly vulnerable coastal areas. Visitors can meet our researchers\, exchange ideas\, and establish new collaborations at the CMCC conference booth. \nIn addition to the conference organization\, CMCC Foundation will also contribute to the debate and the dialogue with innovative scientific approaches\, practical solutions and policy-oriented perspectives across all themes addressed by the conference. \nDiscover the future of adaptation and register for ECCA 2025.

SUMMARY:Joint Climate-Adapt4EOSC and FAIR2Adapt workshop on climate data innovation
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Santander on 3 June 2025 for a joint workshop on climate data innovation! \n📅 Held in the framework of the EGI2025 Conference\, this event is hosted by FAIR2Adapt and Climate-Adapt4EOSC — both advancing cutting-edge\, data-driven solutions for climate change adaptation across Europe. \n🧭 The workshop will explore:\n🔹 Major research and policy challenges for climate adaptation\n🔹 EOSC-based tools and open technologies\n🔹 4 real-world case studies showcasing data integration for climate resilience\n🔹 Key barriers to interoperability — semantic\, technical\, legal and organisational \n📝 Register by 23 May for on-site attendance\, or by noon on 3 June to join online : EGI2025 (2-6 juin 2025): Registration · EGI (Indico) \n \nThe purpose of this jointly-organised Climate-Adapt4EOSC and FAIR2Adapt workshop is to engage and exchange information with projects and organisations involved in the development and deployment of climate change adaptation-related\, data-driven solutions. The workshop will present a range of case studies and use them as prisms to analyse technical and organisational solutions and approaches. The workshop aims to identify approaches that will make it easier to develop\, deploy and maintain data-driven solutions to support climate change adaptation. \nThe workshop starts with a brief analysis of current climate change adaptation-related research and development activities and the possible roles research data and services could play. The relevance of data-driven solutions will be illustrated by overview presentations of the two projects (FAIR2Adapt and Climate-Adapt4EOSC) that cover the use cases\, primary challenges the projects will address and the tools and approaches the projects have chosen to address them. \nThe approaches will be further elaborated and tested by four use case presentations: two of them presenting the approaches in more detail\, and two presentations from projects representing the broader environmental application domain. The goal is to identify areas of common interest\, synergies and new opportunities across the projects’ extended stakeholder networks. \nThe final part of the workshop will discuss the applicability of specific technologies and analytical or operational frameworks in any activity aimed at realising the opportunities. The technologies analysed will include FAIR Digital Objects\, Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework\, while the relevant frameworks will include the Legal-Organisational-Technical-Semantic (LOTS) categorisation of challenges and solutions as well as IT Service Management approach used by the EOSC Nodes. \nThe workshop discussions will contribute to the deliverables of both of the organising projects and will provide valuable input to discussions on forums such as European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2025)\, EOSC Project Coordination event and activities of the EOSC Opportunity Area 2 expert group. The organisers of the workshop will also be present throughout the EGI conference at the joint booth of the two projects. \n \n📌You’ll also find us at our joint exhibition booth during the EGI Conference\, where you will have the opportunity to meet the speakers :\nJesse DeMaria-Kinney (The Adaptation Research Alliance)\nSimon Hodson and Matti Heikkurinen (CODATA)\nEsteban Gonzalez Guardia (FAIR2Adapt-EOSC.eu) \nThe results will contribute to both projects’ deliverables and inform major policy and science events such as ECCA 2025 and the EOSC Opportunity Area 2 expert group. \nTo learn more about the workshop and view the full agenda : https://go.egi.eu/J8kwh \n👉 Find more about EGI on their website: https://lnkd.in/dxk3JZ4t

SUMMARY:[EOSC Event] Skills4EOSC Digital Collections Curators Training
DESCRIPTION:Under the framework of the Skills4EOSC Horizon Europe Project\, this training aims to promote the establishment of Open Science (OS) skills and practices in Research Data Management (RDM) of digital scientific collections. Expected participants are data stewards/curators/scientists and RDM leaders and/or trainers working on the digital transformation of collection-holding institutions\, such as libraries\, archives\, museums and universities (among others). \nThis event will provide an opportunity to gain general knowledge about OS and the importance of its use in the management of digital data from collections of different research fields through lessons and case studies. We also hope that it will serve as a platform for us to connect as a community and establish enriching contacts that can help us to settle these practices in a sustainable and long-term manner. \n\nRegistration: Skills4EOSC Courses Registration Form – select the course “Open Science Skills for Digital Collections Curators (From 19/05 to 20/05)”\nRegistration closes on 12.05.2025\n\nA more detailed overview of the training course and information about all Skills4EOSC training courses can be found in the documents attached. Feel free to also disseminate this information to potential interested people in your community/network!
