Press release for the launch of the CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC project

CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC published its first press release shortly after the project’s kick-off meeting in Athens, 4 -5 February 2025.
A European Initiative for Interoperable and Impactful Climate Data
Funded under the Horizon Europe programme with a total budget of €7.9 million, CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC brings together 18 partner organisations from 9 countries. Over the next four years (2025–2028), the consortium will work to address some of the most pressing challenges in climate adaptation data governance, including:
- The lack of seamless interaction between climate platforms and users;
- Poor interoperability of both data and services;
- Limited support for the generation and accessibility of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data;
- Legal and infrastructural barriers to data access and use.
To tackle these challenges, CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC will develop a set of integrated solutions to make climate data more usable, accessible, and impactful. These include the creation of a Climate-Adapt Knowledge Graph and a dedicated climate change adaptation ontology to enhance metadata tracking, content classification, and data discoverability across scientific outputs and digital tools.
Demonstrating Practical Impact Through Innovative Services
The press release also introduces the four innovative services that will be developed and tested throughout the project (OPENHIDRA, 3SES, JustCURS, Big Data Analytics…)
A Tool for Engagement and Visibility
The publication of this first press release is more than a formality — it is a strategic tool designed to initiate broader engagement with relevant communities and raise awareness of the project’s value proposition. It provides a well-articulated narrative that consortium partners can use to communicate consistently about the project and to support outreach activities at national and European levels.
We encourage all partners and stakeholders to make use of this material by:
- Sharing the press release within institutional and professional networks;
- Including the document in external communication packages or policy briefings;
- Relaying the publication through websites, newsletters, and social media.
